If you were waiting around for the official release of the family photo of Kate Middleton, Prince William, and Prince George — the newborn royal baby — get ready to open that present early. The photos hit Twitter this afternoon (August 19).
The portraits were supposed to be released at midnight Tuesday morning BST — but some Twitter user just couldn't wait to unveil the goods. The folks at Gawker picked up the photos and ran with 'em, publishing them to their site. The photos were then officially released a few hours later.
One portrait shows the beautifully-backlit royal couple standing in what looks like a meadow — Kate in a violet dress, William wearing a blue striped button-down — holding George, who's swaddled in white. In another shot, they're joined by their dog, Lupo.
In both shots, they are the very picture of proud parents. (Lupo, however, seems to be not impressed.)
Along with the photos, Gawker reports that the photos were taken by Kate's father, Michael, and they were reportedly taken at the Middleton family home in Bucklebury.
The photos are darling, but it leaves us with so many questions! Who leaked the photos in the first place? What is Lupo staring at with his tongue out? Just how big is the Middleton family's yard?
Our two cents? Those two have their photo game-faces on, so we're guessing whoever leaked the photos is going to get a talking to from the Queen! As for the Middleton's yard, we're guessing it's pretty darn big (with lots and lots of security to keep the papz at bay.) And Lupo, we think, is probably staring at a butterfly; he seems pretty enchanted.
Right now, we're just waiting until we get another look at that adorable prince!
